Uganda's healthcare system is facing a daunting challenge as hospitals struggle to cope with inadequate funding, despite a growing patient population.

Goreth Namugga, a vocal advocate for improved healthcare, has highlighted the plight of two major hospitals: jinja referral hospital and entebbe regional hospital.

At jinja referral hospital, the situation is dire. the hospital requires at least Shs 3.8 billion shillings for medicine, but receives only about Shs 1.3 billion, leaving a significant shortfall this underfunding has severe consequences, including the inability to provide quality healthcare services to patients.

Entebbe regional hospital faces a similar crisis. the hospital lacks proper storage facilities for medicine, compromising the safety and efficacy of the drugs this is not only a logistical challenge but also a risk to patient health. as Namugga aptly put it, "delivering quality healthcare becomes nearly impossible" under such conditions.
