Chris Evans says "copy and paste" culture killing music industry
Soft-spoken musician, Chris Evans has said the local music industry will become meaningless in ten years because many artistes are not innovative.
Evans thinks the copy and paste culture is so prevalent in the industry.
The Rihanna hit maker stressed that both the musicians and producers are not creative enough to compose original songs and beats as they occasionally keep on repeating other artistes' work.
"The Ugandan music industry will be meaningless after a decade. People will not be minding Ugandan music and artistes because international artistes will have taken over our industry. Most artistes are doing a lot of copy and paste while producers are using the same pages and samples of different songs. For now, most new kids on the block are rocking mostly on copied beats from the international market. Songs no longer last long because they are not new in the ears of music lovers. In the short run, they are benefiting but later in the long run we will have faded out on the market," Evans noted.
Fik Fameica has been accused of xeroxing international songs.
Evans comments came following allegations that the fast rising artiste Fik Fameica has been copying beats of songs made by other artistes.
