MP Kato Lubwama: "No more interviews in English"

Rubaga South MP Kato Lubwama has stopped giving interviews in English with immediate effect.

Lubwama who is the shadow minister for Culture told The Nile Post that he had taken this decision in the interest of promoting local culture legislator has now suspended any interview on him conducted in English .

Lubwama said: "I have abolished interviews in English because I will not promote foreign language in Uganda which does not benefit us.".

When tasked if the development is as a result of the recent fight on a television station, he dismissed it saying that he has struggled in this industry and Andrew Bajjo, the person he had an altercation with had gone beyond the red line.

Bajjo had challenged Lubwama to a live debate in English on matters concerning the state of the drama industry. What really sparked the fight was the claim by Bajjo that Lubwama rarely speaks English because he does not understand it.

But Lubwama retorted today: "No one has ever received a billion shilling because he speaks English and those who speak it are well known for taking a lot of alcohol... and they live a very miserable life."
