the upcoming two-days’ Africa Now Conference in Kampala, to deliberate and agree

to a set of actions to address bottlenecks which impede Africa’s socio-economic

growth.

The

conference organized by Africa Strategic Leadership Centre (ASLC) and slated

for 12th -14th March 2019 in Kampala, Uganda, under the theme; “Towards a

secure, integrated and growing Africa.”

According

to ASLC, this conference will bring together; Heads of State, foreign

investors, CEOs of African and multinational companies, youth leaders and

prominent civil society organization representatives who will retreat in

Kampala for intense discussions, conversations and dialogue.

“Africa

Now Conference will be co- chaired by His Excellency, President Yoweri Museveni

of the Republic of Uganda and other African heads of state together with key

business leaders on the continent. It aims to harness the interminable energy

of the African youth in forging a secure, integrated and growing Africa,” a

statement from ASLC reads in part.

“The

Africa Now Conference seeks to build effective Youth-Business Alliances, which

are critical for growing economies, generating opportunities to address youth

employment, building and sustaining innovation and knowledge based economies

and building the future of Africa, now,” the statement continues.

Dr.

Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari, Chairman Board of Directors (ASLC) while announcing

the conference dates noted that it will aims at facilitating the connection

between high level decision makers with influencers across the socio-economic

spectrum of Africa as well as showcasing investment opportunities available

within industry, agriculture, tourism and the digital economy.

“More

than ever, a bold vision is now needed to drive Africa’s transformation and

future forward. The Africa Now Conference will be a forum for policy dialogue,

extensive public-private partnership and mobilization of resources required to

advance Africa’s socio-economic and political prosperity. This great

continental convening will offer a platform which facilitates open exchange and

collaboration of development strategies. Hopefully, this will enable us seize

available opportunities which shall forge a way forward for Africa’s future,”Rukaari

added.

The event

is expected to attract over 1,000 participants in key sessions such as the

Africa Now Youth Forum, the Business Forum and the CEOs Roundtable among

others.
