Govt Declares Friday a Public Holiday for Eid-Al-Adhuha
The Honorable Minister of Public Service informs the general public that tomorrow Friday 6th June 2025 is Eid-Al-Adhuha ('Festival of Sacrifice') and will be observed as a Public Holiday throughout Uganda

The Government has officially declared Friday, June 6, 2025, a public holiday in observance of Eid-Al-Adhuha, one of the most significant Islamic religious festivals.

The announcement was made by Catherine Bitarakwate Musingwiire, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Public Service, through an official communication addressed to the Ministry of Information, Communication Technology and National Guidance.

The message was requested to be relayed across the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) network to ensure nationwide awareness.

“The Honorable Minister of Public Service informs the general public that tomorrow Friday 6th June 2025 is Eid-Al-Adhuha ('Festival of Sacrifice') and will be observed as a Public Holiday throughout Uganda,” the statement reads.
