The energy was high on Tuesday morning at MoTIV Studios as singer Vinka and her dancers intensified preparations for her upcoming Live & Loud concert.
The rehearsal session, filled with music, choreography and high-energy performances, took an unexpected turn when two brand managers walked in to surprise the team with a special message of support from Bell Lager and Uganda Waragi.
Vinka paused as Lillian Kansiime, Bell Lager Brand Manager, entered carrying a Bell cooler, while Roy Tumwizere, Brand Manager for Core Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries, arrived with a bottle of Uganda Waragi Premium.
The two brand representatives revealed that the brands would support Vinka’s journey from the rehearsal stage to the main concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
After a symbolic handover of gifts, Lillian and Roy joined Vinka and her choreography team on the dance floor, putting on their dancing shoes and taking part in the routine.
“We congratulate Vinka on reaching this important milestone with her inaugural Live and Loud concert. Every artist dreams of getting to a moment like this, and we are proud to be part of Vinka’s journey,” said Lillian Kansiime, Bell Lager Brand Manager.
She added that Bell Lager remains committed to supporting Ugandan talent and celebrating stories that reflect the country’s cultural identity.
“The brand has always believed in investing in Ugandan talent because our music tells the story of who we are. We look forward to celebrating with her fans in August and creating another unforgettable chapter in Uganda’s entertainment story,” Kansiime said.
Tumwizere said the decision to join Vinka during rehearsals was aimed at demonstrating genuine support for her creative process.
“We didn’t want to pull Vinka away into a press conference. Ugandan music and energy come alive right from rehearsals and studio time,” he said.
“As Uganda Waragi shows support for an artist who is authentically and uniquely Ugandan, we decided to join her from preparation to the main stage to say that we are literally with you every step of the way,” Tumwizere added.
Vinka, who transitioned from being a backup dancer and manager to becoming one of Uganda’s leading music performers, represents the determination, creativity and resilience celebrated by both Bell Lager and Uganda Waragi.
The partnership highlights Ugandan pride, talent and excellence, with the two heritage brands demonstrating a new approach to supporting artists beyond traditional sponsorship.
The collaboration is also aligned with Bell Lager’s “Uganda’s Very Own” campaign, which celebrates Ugandans whose achievements have contributed to the country’s cultural identity as the brand marks its 75th anniversary. Vinka’s journey as a leading performer makes her a fitting representative of this celebration.
Following the surprise dance session, the brands held a brief photo shoot to officially confirm their partnership as sponsors of Vinka Live & Loud, before allowing the artiste to continue with her rehearsals.
