Next Media Park once again positioned itself at the centre of Uganda’s entertainment industry conversations on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, when it hosted the official press conference for Ray G Live in Concert ahead of the highly anticipated show scheduled for August 7 at Kololo Airstrip.

The event brought together musicians, promoters, media personalities, content creators and entertainment stakeholders as excitement continues to build around what is expected to be one of Uganda’s biggest concerts of the year.

The press conference also underscored the ongoing partnership between Next Media Uganda and Ray G, with AfroMobile, UgaTunes, NBS Music and Sanyuka TV joining as official sponsors and media partners. The collaboration extends a relationship that has seen the media group support the artist across previous concerts and key moments in his career.

The partnership follows earlier engagements between Ray G and Next Media Group Chief Executive Officer Kin Kariisa and members of the leadership team, where discussions focused on strengthening Uganda’s creative industry and expanding platforms for local talent.

Speaking during the press conference, Ray G said the concert is driven by a desire to give fans the experience they have long requested.

“It’s not about money, it’s about giving people the service they want. They wanted a concert in Kampala, and here it is. We care more about what we give than what we get,” he said.

He also explained the choice of Kololo Airstrip as the venue for the show.

“We wanted a bigger space where people can fit comfortably because last time we had challenges with seating. I believe Kololo Airstrip is the best venue for the show,” he noted.

Widely recognised as a leading figure in contemporary heritage music from Western Uganda, Ray G has maintained strong ties to his Runyankore roots while expanding his influence across Uganda and the East African region.

The collaboration with Next Media brands reflects a shared focus on growing Uganda’s entertainment industry through platforms that amplify local talent and connect artists with wider audiences via television, digital media and music streaming services.

As the countdown to August 7 continues, audiences are expected to receive extensive coverage across Next Media platforms, building momentum toward Ray G Live in Concert and highlighting the continued growth of Uganda’s live music economy.
