A new era for African youth entertainment is set to be unleashed as BASE Pulse, a dynamic multiplatform youth culture channel, prepares to launch across the continent on DStv Channel 322 and GOtv Channel 345.

Every generation carries its own cultural rhythm — a movement shaped by music, fashion, language, and identity. Across Africa, that pulse beats from kasi street corners to global stages, powered by young creators who are redefining expression with confidence and ambition.

BASE Pulse positions itself as a next-generation youth culture ecosystem.

It blends music, storytelling, digital content, and real-world experiences to amplify African creatives and connect them to global audiences. Through an always-on, multiplatform strategy, the channel aims to spotlight emerging voices, celebrate cultural movements, and unlock new opportunities for young talent across the continent.

BASE Pulse is created by Pulse Entertainment, a next-generation media house focused on accelerating Africa’s creative economy. Operating as a 360-degree media powerhouse, Pulse Entertainment integrates broadcast, digital, social, and experiential platforms to build globally competitive African intellectual property and reshape how African stories are produced and distributed.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Nomsa Philiso, Director of Content and General Entertainment (English and Portuguese Africa) at MultiChoice Group — a CANAL+ company — said the channel strengthens the platform’s youth offering.

“We are always looking at ways to add value to the DStv offering, and BASE Pulse does exactly that by introducing fresh African entertainment to the platform,” she noted.

Kgomotso Lakaje, Channel Manager at Pulse Entertainment, described the initiative as more than just a broadcast launch.

“BASE Pulse is not just a channel; it is a movement. Our goal is to create a platform where African youth culture is not only celebrated, but also monetized, exported, and elevated globally. We are building a space where creators, brands, and audiences can connect in meaningful ways.”

BASE Pulse presenter Caddy Tsotetsi emphasized the demographic opportunity behind the project, noting that Africa has the youngest population in the world.

She said the platform is committed to empowering the next generation of creatives and giving them a stage that extends far beyond the continent.

The channel’s programming slate will span the latest music releases, trending pop culture moments, youth-focused storytelling, music documentaries, digital-first formats, dance and music reality content, and interactive viewer-choice music blocks that allow audiences to select their favorite tracks.

With this mix, BASE Pulse aims to become a living, evolving hub for African youth culture — connecting markets, amplifying voices, and shaping the continent’s cultural export story.
