Bukomansimbi positions to reap from Muhoozi visit

BUKOMANSIMBI | Residents of Bukomansimbi are rubbing their palms in anticipation of improved service delivery that they say is acutely lacking in the district and the saviour is First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Gen Muhoozi, who is also a senior presidential advisor on special operations, is expected in Bukomansimbi on March 15.

The residents see the visit as a moment to change their socio-economic fortune and they made no secret of their wishes on Saturday, saying bad roads and high price of agricultural inputs have hampered development in the district.
Some health workers in Bukomansimbi said hospitals do not have enough drugs and prayed Muhoozi intervenes to fight corruption and theft of drugs in public health centres.
The government has unrolled health workers and it is paying us very well but our facilities are still grappling with shortage of essential drugs.
"A patient comes and you fail to give them medicine because it is not available and that is so common here," said Adams Tumwebaaze, a health worker at Butenga Health Centre IV.
Tumwebaze asked the leadership of Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) to lobby for more infrastructures for the schools in Bukomansimbi in order to improve health systems in the district.
"In public schools, pupils sit on the floor because they lack desks and the classroom blocks are dilapidated," Tumwebaaze added.
Some of the residents say Gen Muhoozi should bring the UPDF Engineering Brigade to work on their feeder roads and improve transportation in area.
Addressing the residents at the town council grounds. State Minsiter for Microfinance Haruna Kasolo said they will preach the gospel of unity and patriotism in youth, especially children who can remember everything.
He also promised service delivery to the people of Bukomansimbi as it is their target as PLU.
Michael Nuwagira, commonly known as Toyota, urged Bukomansimbi locals to vote for NRM for the service they need to be delivered.
"These leaders you voted for are not loving us as the NRM," Toyota, a younger brother of President Museveni, said.
"How will they come to us and ask for service for their people!? Wake up, people of Bukomansimbi."
Gen Muhoozi launched PLU a fortnight ago. He has since embarked on laying a national structure for the group that is driving toward the 2026 presidential election.
Muhoozi's backers say it is time for Gen Museveni to step down for his own son to continue with the NRM vision.
