Police in Kampala have arrested three armed robbers over the fatal shooting of a security guard at a forex bureau in Kabuusu in Rubaga Division.

The suspects reportedly shot dead Peter Agama, a security guard attached to Wolves Security Group, who was on duty at Banxele Forex bureau Kabuusu branch.

They took off with his gun following the Tuesday night incident.

According Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP), the area police swiftly pursued the suspects culminating in their arrest in Kawaala zone at Premier Betting.

“We can confirm that Hussein Sebuma, also known as Obote, David Dumba, and Abdullah Jumah, have been taken into custody,” KMP deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire confirmed in a statement.

He said that two firearms registration number UG PSO 56 4000868 12452 with 13 rounds and another believed to have been used in the commission of the crime, with 10 rounds.

The body of the deceased security guard was found with three gunshot wounds.

This is the second gun violence incident to happen in Kampala city in a space of one month, following the murder of Ndiga clan leader Joseph Bossa in Lungujja.

The suspected shooters were also traveling on a motorcycle when they stormed the scene.
