Police in Nakaseke District have arrested a woman suspected of killing her husband in his sleep.

The woman, a resident of Kassaga Village, Kassaga Parish Nakaseke Subcounty, is e is facing charges of murder for the incident that happened on Sunday, March 10, at about 9pm.

According to police, John Bosco Kalemera, a 60-year-old native doctor and a resident of Kassaga village, after his throat was slit with a sharp object.

Police preliminary findings indicate that Kalemera was cut by panga by an unknown assailanet.

“At the time of murder Kalemera was with his wife who was unhurt,” reads part of the statement by Savanna regional police spokesperson Sam Twineamazima.

He said that all indications show that the deceased was cut while he was on his bed sleeping.

A team of scene of crime officers discovered a basin of water mixed with blood which he said that it indicates that someone either washed his hands or the panga that was stained with blood.

“We have meanwhile arrested the wife of the deceased one Esther Nalukwago who is at Nakaseke police station to help in investigations while the body has been retrieved and conveyed to Nakaseke hospital for postmoterm examination,” he said
