Chief State Attorney Jonathan Muwaganya questioned Ssentongo over discrepancies regarding his age, his denial of telephone communication with several city pastors despite findings in his own expert report, and allegations that he is linked to individuals he described as Pastor Kayanja’s historical critics/ enemies.
During the proceedings at Mwanga 11 Court in Mengo , Muwaganya confronted Ssentongo with documentary evidence including statements he made at police, admission forms at Lubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral security detail and Mulago Hospital medical reports which all show that he was 21 years of age in 2021.
However during his testimony in JuLy 2026, Ssentongo told the court that he is 21years of age ; a major contradiction in his that meant that his age has been static for the last 5 years.
Pressed further on whether he had informed his lawyers, before pastor Kayanja’s testimony , about allegations that he had been sodomised and instructed to kill people on his behalf , Ssentongo replied that he disclosed the information “in stages” and had not narrated everything at once as he keeps on remembering information in bits.
Then Muwaganya wondered why the defence had not put those allegations to Pastor Kayanja during cross-examination.
Asked to state when the alleged sodomy occurred, Ssentongo said he could not remember the exact date or month .
" You don't remember the date, month or even the year in which you were allegedly sodomised " Muwangaya questioned
The cross-examination then shifted to Ssentongo’s alleged links to Pastors, Jackson Ssenyonga, David Kiganda , Solomon Male , Martin ssempa and Aloysius Bugingo.
" According to the evidence of your own expert , you were in telephone communications with the said pastors who are known Historical nemesis of pastor Robert Kayanja".
Ssentongo maintained that he had never met, interacted with or shared information from his phone with Pastor Ssenyonga ; of Christian Life Church Kavule.
To challenge that claim, the prosecution played a video in court in which Pastor Ssenyonga said "several young men had approached him alleging they had been abused by Pastor Kayanja and had shown him WhatsApp communications detailing their experiences"
Ssentongo denied being one of the people referred to in the video and insisted he had never met Pastor Ssenyonga.
The prosecutor then referred to findings by Ssentongo’s own digital forensic expert- Enock Kanene which allegedly showed that Ssentongo had been in telephone communication with Pastor David Kiganda, Pastor Aloysius Bugingo and Pastor Solomon Male.
Ssentongo rejected the findings.
" Its not true . I have never met him".
When asked whether that meant his own expert witness had lied in the report, he answered in the affirmative.
" That is a lie" Ssentongo stated .
The prosecutor reminded Ssentongo that giving false evidence under oath is a criminal offence which can result to have a negative effect on his entire testimony.
Meanwhile, the court dismissed an application by the prosecution seeking to summon the Head of the Government Analytical Laboratory to testify on the laboratory’s communication protocols.
Presiding magistrate Adams Byarugana said he will only compare the two expert reports on record to reach a verdict.
The case has been adjourned to July 16 for further cross-examination.
Reagan Ssentongo and eight others are implicated in the trespass at Lubaga Mirale Centre Cathedral with an intention yo annoy pastor Robert Kayanja.
The youths are also charged with giving false information to a police officer in which they allegedly fabricated evidence of un nature offenses against pastor Kayanja
