The three Members of Parliament remanded last week over budget corruption have been committed to High Court for trial.

On Monday, Anti Corruption Court chief magistrate, Joan Aciro committed Yusuf Mutembuli (Bunyole East ), Paul Akamba (Busiki County) , and Cissy Namujju (Lwengo District Woman) after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) said police had finished  their investigations into the case

Two of these including Mutembuli and Namujju were last week denied bail by court while Akamba was released but violently re-arrested by security at court premises.

They are accused of allegedly asking for a bribe from officials of the Uganda Human Rights Commission in order to increase the commission's budget for financial 2024/25.

The crime was allegedly committed in May this year.
