dfcu Bank Rewards Customers in Nationwide School Fees Financing Campaign

By | February 18, 2026

dfcu Bank has rewarded eight customers as part of its ongoing nationwide School Fiiz! Weight Off! campaign, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to helping parents and school owners manage back-to-school expenses across Uganda.

The winners received their cash prizes at dfcu Bank’s Head Office in Nakasero, Kampala. The three-month campaign, launched ahead of the first school term on February 10, 2026, targets the entire education ecosystem — parents, guardians, students, schools, and education suppliers — offering convenient payment channels, accessible credit solutions, and insurance products to ease both financial and emotional burdens of school reopening.

Ssekidde Alex, a medical assistant at Rakai Hospital, praised dfcu for its quick school fees loan solution.

“As the first term approached, I was concerned about how I would raise the school fees. Through dfcu, I was able to access a loan quickly and pay on time. The process was fast and efficient, which made a big difference,” he said.

Another winner, Doreen Muhoza Kamugisha, expressed her appreciation for the cash reward she received after paying school fees through dfcu during the campaign.

Under the initiative, parents and guardians who pay school fees of at least Shs 300,000 via dfcu channels, or borrow with a minimum net take-home of Shs15 million, qualify for weekly cash prizes.

Each week, 15 customers are recognized — five for school fees payments and ten for borrowing — with a total of 195 winners over the three-month period. Borrowers receive tiered rewards ranging from Shs200,000 to Shs500,000 depending on the loan amount.

Schools also benefit: institutions that increase collections through dfcu by at least 20 percent — meeting minimum thresholds of Shs 500 million for Kampala-based schools and Shs 300 million for upcountry schools — or take up a bancassurance policy during the campaign, can win a Library Stock-Up worth Shs 5 million to enhance learning infrastructure.

As part of the campaign, dfcu offers unsecured personal loans up to Shs400 million, dfcu Mobi-Loans up to Shs5 million, and school owners’ financing up to Shs500 million, alongside vehicle and asset financing. Qualifying loans can be processed within 24 hours.

To safeguard schools, dfcu also promotes Schools Comprehensive Insurance Cover and School Motor Comprehensive Insurance, protecting property, vehicles, staff, students, and third-party liabilities.

The “School Fiiz! Weight Off!” campaign is open nationwide and runs for three months. Parents can pay school fees via the dfcu QuickApp, USSD *240#, dfcu agents and branches, as well as partner platforms including SchoolPay, SurePay, and PegPay.

Through this initiative, dfcu Bank continues to position itself as a key partner in Uganda’s education sector, combining financial solutions with incentives that ease the burden of school fees and support the growth of education institutions nationwide.
