Uganda to put its  coffee on global shelves at Xiamen international expo in China

Uganda's  Consulate in China has announced it will be  co-hosting  the Xiamen International Coffee Expo, which opens today, November 22 and will run until November 24 in China.

The event brings together coffee producers, enthusiasts, and industry leaders from around the globe to celebrate the rich culture and diverse flavors of coffee.

In attendance are  representatives from the Uganda Embassy in Beijing, including Ambassador Oliver Wonekha and Consul General Ambassador Judyth Nsababera.

Their presence underscores Uganda's commitment to promoting its exceptional coffee industry and fostering international relationships within the coffee community.

The Xiamen International Coffee Expo serves as an important platform for showcasing Uganda's unique coffee offerings, highlighting sustainable farming practices, and enhancing collaboration with global partners.

Officials said attendees will have a chance to engage in  discussions, tastings, and opportunities to explore the rich heritage of Ugandan coffee.

In 2020, Uganda became Africa's largest coffee exporter, surpassing Ethiopia.
