United Bank for Africa says its MD elevated to new position
United Bank for Africa Uganda has cleared the air on circumstances surrounding their Managing Director, Chioma A. Mang.
There have been reports indicating that Chioma had been recalled to the headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria over “unclear reasons.”
However, in a statement on Wednesday, Hoziana Niyonsaba, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at UBA Uganda Limited said their former Managing Director was elevated to a new position.
As a bank that embraces progress and appreciates good performance, we confirm that Mrs. Chioma A. Mang, the immediate Managing Director/CEO of UBA Uganda limited has been elevated with a greater group responsibility, effective October, 1 2024,”Niyonsaba said.
She said they appreciate the contribution of Chioma towards the growth of the bank during her tenure but also wished her success in her new role.
“UBA Uganda, with strong adherence to corporate governance practices, will announce in due course announce its new Managing Director/CEO.”
