CID summons Bobi Wine over inciting violence
The police Criminal Investigations Department have summoned Kyadondo East Mmember of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine to appear for questioning over statements he made recently.
In a letter dated October 18 and signed by Detective SSP Olal Johnson,the CID commander for Kampala Metropolitan police, Bobi Wine is expected to appear at Kibuli today, Thursday for questioning by police.

“Under section 27(a) of the police act,the police is empowered to invite,summon or require the attendance of any person whom the police have reason to believe has relevant or valuable information,exhibits or documents to assist police in investigations,”reads the letter in part.
“You are therefore required to report to the Media Crime Division at CID Headquarters to respond to allegations of incitement of violence.”
According to the letter, Bobi Wine contravened section 83 of the Penal Code Act when he allegedly committed the offence over the weekend during his concert at Busabala.
The summons come barely a day after the Kampala Metropolitan Police commander, Frank Mwesigwa stopped Bobi Wine stopped Bobi Wine’s concert in Mukono pending investigations.
“Unfortunately we are not granting permission for the show because during the previous show at One Love Beach Busabala, he uttered words that are inciteful to the public and he is now under investigations,”said Mwesigwa’s response to a request by Balunywa promotions, an events company for security ahead of the cncert in Mukono.
According to the statement, the KMP commander asked the singer to differentiate between Bobi Wine the musician and Robert Kyagulanyi,the legislator.
