Salam TV and Salam Charity Managing Director Hajji Karim Kaliisa has called on Muslim student leaders to build purposeful friendships, value time, and maintain discipline as keys to academic and moral success.
Kaliisa delivered the keynote address at the Muslim Students Association of Uganda MSAU Students Seminar & Capacity Building held at Kinaawa High School - Kawempe.
The seminar aimed to equip Muslim student leaders with skills for academic excellence and strong moral character.
Speaking to the students, Kaliisa emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with friends who contribute positively to growth.
On relationships and networks: He encouraged the leaders to build friendships with people who matter, noting that those connections can support them academically, in faith, and in other good ways of living.
He also urged them to create strong bonds with each other, stressing that these relationships will continue to matter even after school ends.
On discipline and time: Kaliisa urged students to value time and always do the right things at the right time. He challenged them to cultivate disciplined habits without needing supervision, adding that "the sky is the limit, and with discipline, you can't go wrong."
On academics and integrity: He encouraged students to read more, reminding them of the sacrifices parents make to put them in school.
He said reading more would help them succeed and honor that effort. He also advised them to stay clear of corruption in all their actions and to show respect to teachers and every other leader.
The MSAU seminar brought together Muslim student leaders from different schools at Kinaawa High School Kawempe for capacity building on leadership, character, and academic responsibility.
