The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) Uganda has launched the first cohort of its Uganda Supporters Programme 2026, an initiative aimed at enhancing public awareness, storytelling and engagement around the organisation’s health cooperation programmes.
The programme seeks to build a network of informed public health advocates who will help communicate KOFIH Uganda’s work accurately, effectively and responsibly while highlighting its contribution to strengthening Uganda’s health systems.
During the launch and orientation, participants were introduced to KOFIH, the 2026 supporters programme and the organisation’s visibility strategy. The event also featured media engagements, promotional activities, a question-and-answer session and an overview of key KOFIH Uganda projects.
The projects highlighted include Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Community Health Workers programmes, cancer initiatives, infectious disease prevention, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programmes, the Korea Global Alliance (KGA), and initiatives associated with the late Dr. Lee Jong Wook.
KOFIH said the programme will equip supporters with the knowledge and tools needed to explain health cooperation initiatives clearly, enabling communities, partners and the public to better understand the organisation’s role in improving healthcare access and outcomes.
Through the initiative, supporters will help amplify public health messages, promote project visibility, encourage responsible storytelling and share programme achievements through approved communication platforms.
“Public health impact grows stronger when people understand the work behind it,” said Lee Eunhyeok, the KOFIH Programme Manager.
“Through the KOFIH Uganda Supporters Programme, we are investing in informed voices who can share our mission, highlight partnerships and connect health cooperation with the communities it serves.”
KOFIH, a South Korean public organisation dedicated to healthcare development cooperation, works internationally to reduce health inequalities and strengthen health systems. The organisation’s efforts align with global health priorities focused on improving access, quality, coverage and efficiency of healthcare services.
The launch of the supporters programme marks a new approach by KOFIH Uganda to increase public engagement and strengthen communication around health cooperation initiatives across the country.
