“The suspect lured the victim to his rented room. Before the incident, the boy reportedly performed household chores, including washing clothes and mopping the offender’s single rented room in Musima village, Wanyange,” SP Mubi said.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect has been bringing boys to his room repeatedly, raising suspicion among neighbors about his alleged sexual interest in minors.

SP Mubi emphasized that the regional police command is committed to ensuring the safety of learners in primary and secondary schools, as well as institutions of higher learning.

“School directors, headteachers, and persons in authority must address unwanted sexual behavior seriously to ensure learners feel safe attending school,” he said.

The accused remains in police custody as investigations continue.
