A 30 year old boda-boda rider Alex Wakama on Friday found a hard time before the Mwanga II court as he was being cross-examined by the State to establish the truthfulness of his claims against Lubaga Miracle centre Cathedral senior Pastor Robert Kayanja.
Wakamala is among the nine men accused of fabricating evidence against pastor Kayanja also allegedly trespassing at his church in 2017.
He last week stated in his sworn defence before court that pastor Kayanja had inappropriately touched him and had sex with him against his will.
However during an eight hour heated cross -examination by chief state Attorney Jonathan Muwaganya, Wakamala selectively chose to remember what events while denying knowledge and time of others, which form the basis of his alleged accusations against pastor Kayanja .
“Are you in a position to give a date, year, or month when this happened?” Muwaganya asked.
“I cannot,” Wakamala responded.
Wakamala could also not tell court when he bought his current phone , what type of phone it is or ably explain under what happened to his earlier phones that the state believes hold vital information went missing .
Muwaganya put it to Wakamala and his co-accused that they have never been sodomy victims but rather part of a bigger orchestrated plot , paid , coached and used by another city pastor to destroy the image of pastor Kayanja.
“You were coached, evidence was planted in your hands and you were paid to destroy the image of Pastor Kayanja,”Muwaganya charged at Wakamala.
Whereas the accused denied, the chief state attorney insisted that the claims put forward by the accused were part of a well orchestrated plot to tarnish Pastor Kayanja's name and that of his ministry.
Trial Grade One magistrate Adams Byarugaba has adjourned the session to September, 10 for further cross-examination of Wakamala.
