The announcement came after hours of tension and delays at the tally centre, with supporters from different political camps closely monitoring the final count.
Security personnel remained deployed at the venue to maintain order during and after the declaration.
Speaking shortly after being declared winner, Uhuru thanked voters for renewing their trust in his leadership and pledged to continue working toward improved service delivery, infrastructure development, and better governance in Kampala Central.
The Kampala Central mayoral race was among the most hotly contested contests in the capital, drawing significant attention due to its political significance and the high-profile candidates involved.
The Electoral Commission urged all candidates and their supporters to respect the declared results and to follow legal channels should they wish to challenge the outcome.
