Oketch wins March Player of the Month

Oketch

BUL Bidco FC midfielder Simon Peter Oketch has been named the Pilsner Player of the Month after a stellar performance for the 23-year-old.

The BUL FC academy graduate took his game even a notch higher in a high achieving season for the club, further demonstrating his goalscoring ability.

Oketch hit a rich vein of form during the month of March, scoring three times in four appearances and providing an assist in another.

After scoring a fine brace in a 5-1 humiliation of UPDF FC to kick off March, Oketch netted the opening goal in against Toor United before providing the assist for the equaliser in the derby against Busoga.

Those contributions helped lift BUL to fourth place, and set them comfortably on course to their best every finish in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

“I feel proud to be named as the player of the month,” he said, adding; “I have given my all and I believe this is a reward from the hard work.”

“I enjoyed the games. I feel I was in top form but I give credit to the senior players like Abdul Karim Ndugwa and the coaching staff who have helped me improve my game.”

The midfielder came out on top in a three-man shortlist that also included teammate Ndugwa and Arua Hill forward Rashid Kawawa.

Meanwhile, Vipers SC head coach Roberto Oliveira was voted the coach of the month for the second time this season.
