NBS Uncut's Anatalia joins elective politics

NBS TV Uncut presenter, Annet Nambooze alias Anna Talia Oze has plunged into politics.

While launching her bid for the Rubaga North Lord Woman councillor slot this week, Nambooze said she wants to tackle poverty and youth unemployment if elected as councillor in the forthcoming elections.

"The struggle to afford basic necessities by many of you was and is still my struggle. The fear to slip into poverty, the raging issue of youth unemployment are still my fears,"said Nambooze.

She explained to her supporters that as a child growing up, she was exposed and has experienced the plight of the people in Rubaga North.

"I know what it means to be born and raised in this constituency in every sense including the challenges of my people. I grew up in a very modest home that struggled and depended on hard work to survive,"she explained.

"I have experienced through family and friends first-hand, the challenges of HIV, challenges of unemployment and under employment. I know what poverty means to many of us. I grew and lived through it,"she added.

Nambooze said she decided to be independent because all of the people she would affiliate herself with have a niche.

“Bobi Wine is one of the people we look at and hope will change many things in Uganda today. On the other hand, I have many friends in the ruling NRM party and they have the same problems like us who are not in government,"she explained.

"I want to be your voice and I hope, working with you,  will help all of us bring the change."
