NRM moves to destroy Bobi Wine’s People Power base in Southern Africa

The NRM leadership in Southern Africa has started a move aimed at annihilating Bobi Wine’s People Power structures in the region, the Nile Post has learnt.

According to Isma Luzige, the interim chairman for the ruling National Resistance Movement, they will begin with the launch of the NRM Southern Africa Chapter on November 23 in Pretoria and this will be a springboard for a series of other activities.

“At the launch we shall give party cards to our cadres as well as receiving new members to the party and assigning roles to the various members in the SADC region,”Luzige said.

The NRM Southern Africa Chapter is in charge of South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

According to Luzige, after the launch of the chapter, they will begin rigorous activities aimed at dispelling what he termed as “People Power lies” against the ruling NRM government among Ugandans in the region.

“For a number of years, Ugandans in Southern Africa have been fed on lies and propaganda by the opposition especially People Power about the achievements of the NRM government. We want to move from the silent majority we have been in to the loud majority,”Luzige said.

He noted that they will create awareness of the existence of the chapter and offices in the various SADC countries for the ruling party supporters to get assistance in their areas.

Since joining politics as Kyadondo East Member of Parliament in 2017, Bobi Wine has shaken up the political establishment in the country with both the ruling NRM and strongest opposition party, Forum for Democratic Change having to come to terms with the new kid on the block.

Endorse Museveni for 2021

According to the NRM Southern Africa Chapter, they will later endorse Museveni as a sole candidate to run for President in the forthcoming 2021 general elections at a function to be held on December 8 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

“President Museveni will be the chief guest at the function where other party officials including the NRM Secretary General, Justine Kasule Lumumba will be present as we make a statement among Ugandans that we have many supporters in the diaspora,”Luzige said.
