Katikkiro Mayiga warns against hooliganism ahead of Masaza Cup Final

The Prime Minister of Buganda Kingdom Charles Peter Mayiga has warned against hooliganism ahead of the upcoming Masaza final slated for Saturday 26th October at the Mandela National Stadium.

It is just over one week to the biggest football match in the Buganda Kingdom, the Masaza Cup Final.

Deo Sserwadda’s Busiro who have never won the title will take on 2012 champions Bulemeezi who are coached by Bright Stars assistant coach Simon Mugwerwa.

With the teams already in their residential camps, the organisers are also busy compiling the guest list for this big football match.

Buganda’s Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga has confirmed that for the first time Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II invited special guests from UNAIDS so as to emphasize this year’s theme of fighting HIV/AIDS

Before the final kicks off, Budu and Kyadondo will face off for the third and fourth places.

While addressing media at Bulange, Mengo, Mayiga asked the Baganda and Ugandans at large to come to Namboole to witness Kabaka Mutebi handover the trophy to the winner.

According to Mayiga this will be the best final since teams have fought to be at the final. “This is the best final because Busiro has never been in the finals at Namboole. I call upon fans to of the two to come with drums to support your teams,” Mayiga said.

This year, the tournament theme is Kicking HIV out of Uganda.

Mayiga says that men should come to the fore front of fighting HIV. “We know men are sometimes responsible for the spread of HIV, therefore, I call upon all men to come and led the campaign,” Mayiga said.

Before the final, Buddu and Kyaddondo will face off for 3rd place.
