Video: Full Figure blasts artistes for neglecting ailing Jackie Chandiru

Musician Jennifer Nakanguubi alias Full Figure has lashed at artistes for neglecting fellow musician Jackie Chandiru who is currently in rehab.

Jackie Chandiru, a former member of the all-girl music group, Blu*3 has for the past few years suffered with drug addiction and has spent the better part of the last four years in rehab.

She expressed signs of healing earlier this year and announced a comeback to music but was re admitted in July this year.

Social media reports last week claimed the singer had passed on following her alleged escape from rehab only to re appear in a video with event promoter Balaam Barugahara in a private home where she is receiving treatment.

Now Full Figure has lashed at artistes saying that they have neglected Chandiru who is one of their own.

She said that they are waiting for her to be announced dead and start expressing sympathy for showbiz.

"It's sad to see that artistes are silent when our comrade is in this condition. It's sad to see that after a week, they have not done anything," Full Figure said in part.

There have been reports that Chandiru has been contemplating taking her own life due to recommendations from specialists and doctors to have her left hand amputated for the sake of her life.

Chandiru's tribulations stemmed from abuse of a prescription painkiller called Pethidine which was supposed to treat a back problem.

According to an interview she held earlier this year with NBS Television's Karitas Karışımbi on ' NBS Chat Room' Chandiru said that she got addicted to the drug and started taking it without doctors prescription yet it was only meant to help with her back pain.

“My disorder started about five years ago at a time I had a back pain, the doctor prescribed Pethidine, a pain killer after noticing my pain. I got addicted and started getting it without prescription, I injected myself anyhow, as long as the drug got into my body. It started affecting my brain,” Jackie said earlier this year.

About her recovery from the rehab, Chandiru said that it was so difficult for her as she was still getting triggers and moments where felt like she needed a needle. Often, according to reports, Chandiru asked friends to get her the drug and continued to inject her self with it even while in rehab.
