Six dead after taxi overturns along Mbale- Tirinyi highway
Six people have been confirmed dead after a taxi in which they were travelling in burst its tyres and rolled several times in Namutumba district.
According to the Busoga East police spokesperson James Mubi, the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon at Magada along the Iganga- Tirinyi-Mbale highway when a taxi registration number UBE 687L coming from Kampala headed to Mbale overturned.

“The speeding vehicle burst its tyre and overturned killing the six people instantly,”Mubi told the Nile Post.
The regional police spokesperson, however, noted that the identities of the injured victims are yet to be established.
Past accidents
The accident comes on the heels of another incident over the weekend involving a Modern Coast Bus with personalized number plates Modern 3 that was coming from Kenya and a trailer registration number ZE 2344 from Kampala.
The incident at Nakawa, Busowa Town Council in Bugiri district along the Jinja-Tororo highway saw at least eight people die after the bus collided with a trailer coming from Kampala headed to Kenya at around 5:30 am.
