Police in Kampala has started investigating circumstances under which a 19-year-old  son to Democratic Party president Norbert Mao went missing.

According to Mao, his son, Nicholas Mao Hope, 19 left home on Monday evening in the company of friend but has since then not returned home.

“The friend he went with is unknown to us. His mother and I are contacting relatives and friends to find out where he could be,” Mao posted on his facebook page.

The opposition stalwart said efforts by the family to contact the son’s relatives and friends to find out his whereabouts have since turned futile prompting them to mount a search for him.

“His friends at Watoto Church North where he plays guitar in the church band also said they haven’t seen him or heard from him.”
