Cabinet approves new NITA-U board of directors

Cabinet on Monday approved the new board of directors of the National Information Technology Authority Uganda (NITA-U).

According to a statement from NITA, the new board will be chaired by Mr. John R. Musinguzi.

Musinguzi holds a Master’s degree in Computing and Information systems of University of Greenwich and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics of Makerere University.

He is the Senior Presidential Advisor on ICT and Investment.

Commenting on the development, NITA-U’s Executive Director, James Saaka, said: "We are pleased to welcome the new board members led by Mr. John Musinguzi. They join NITA-U at an exciting time as we continue to drive our nationwide effort to digitalize our nation and build deeper relationships with Ministries, Departments & Agencies, Local Governments and Ugandan citizens as fulfil our purpose of enabling lifestyles through the use of ICT."

He said that NITA-U is confident the new board will provide valuable perspectives as it continues to execute its strategy and enhance the lives of Uganda citizens.
