Cape Town City, ‘Dancing Rasta’ Kateregga part ways

Uganda Cranes midfielder, Allan Kateregga nicknamed the dancing Rasta has parted ways with South African Premier Soccer League giants Cape Town City.

Kateregga joined Cape Town City from Kenya’ AFC Leopards but spent the second half of last season on loan at Maritsburg United but his situation was made worse a few days ago when his club signed former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Mpho Makola.

It is said the development rendered the ‘dancing Rasta’ excess to capacity prompting the two parties to agree to mutually part ways.

“Allan Kateregga is a free agent now, and I am confirming this to you, as his agent. He is currently in Cape Town,” the player’s agent Samuel Celubra was quoted by South African media.

“Before he left Cape Town City, the number of loaning players had exceeded. So, we made a short contract of selling him for a period of six months, which was going to terminate this June/July.”

It is said Kateregga discussed his move with Cape Town City on Tuesday and it was agreed that both parties part ways in peace and for the betterment of the player’s future.

“We agreed on our terms, which are personal and we can’t go into details about them. But he is a free player now and we’ve got our clearance now. Everything is in order and we are ready for a new club and new deal,” Kateregga’s representative said.
