 What to consider when buying?

“Cotton is the most popular material used to make most bedding and this is all for a good cause as it is durable, breathable, soft, easy to care for and generally affordable. Egyptian cotton is softer and finer due to a higher thread count than any other kind of cotton which makes it a little costlier than the other kinds,” Katusiime says.

How to handle what you have bought

“The best way to take care of your bedding is to wash and iron regularly and this is where the quilt kind of bedcover comes in handy because they’re lighter to wash since the fibre can be removed as the manufacturers put a provision of a zipper to take it out and wash the outer cloth alone. This saves you the burden to wash a very heavy duvet and yet these quilts are still warm because of the fibre on the inside.”

“The best way to store bedding is to ensure they’re clean and completely moisture free. Most of the heavy bedding like duvets come with plastic packaging to keep it safely for storage after laundry is the best idea. Some bed sheets too come with packaging therefore it can also be used for storage when not in use.’
