AFCON 2019: Wadada, Awany start as Desabre makes three changes in team against Egypt

Uganda cranes coach, Sebastien Desabre has made three changes to the team that drew with Zimbabwe as names his starting eleven in their last group game.

Uganda will later tonight renew acquaintances with Egypt in their last group A game at the Caro International stadium.

Both teams have recently met three times in the past three years.

In the team named by the French international, former Vipers captain, Nicholas Wadada has been handed his first game in this year’s Afcon tournament as well as KCCA FC skipper, Timothy Denis Awany , both playing in defence.

On form skipper Denis Masinde Onyango maintains his position in between the sticks.

Godfrey Walusimbi and Abdu Lumala are the other players to complete Uganda’s defence line against Egypt.

In midfield, Khalid Aucho and Mike Azira are doing the defensive cover whereas Faruku Miya, Emmanuel Okwi and Allan Kyambadde are upfront to hunt for goals.

Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye is in charge of the game and will be assisted by Elvis Guy Noupue Nguegoue(Cameroon) and Seydou Tiama(Burkina Faso) as first and second assistant referees.

Uganda is second in group A with four points, two below leaders Egypt but both teams have confirmed participation in the round of 16.
