Police nabs lady who has been lacing men's drinks with chloroform in bars

The Uganda Police Flying Squad Unit in Kampala yesterday arrested a woman who has allegedly been lacing her victims' drinks with chloroform before robbing them.

According to a statement from Uganda police, the suspect, Aine Mbabazi has  been targeting high profile personalities in luxurious bars and hotels.

Police said that she will be charged with theft at City Hall Court today.

"Ms Mbabazi moves with chloroform in her bag, that she puts in her victim's drink. When she realises that you are unconscious and you are on the dance floor, Ms Mbabazi will assist you to sit down and she robs you.

When you decide to to take her home, when you reach home, she administers the chloroform when you are dead a sleep, she alerts her colleagues who have a vehicle. They take everything from your house," read part of the statement.

The police cautioned men to always be very careful towards women they meet in bars for the first time.

"When you are having a drink with a stranger, constantly monitor your drink."
