Kyetume now a win away from Uganda Premier League

Kyetume FC is one of the UPL trams that wont attend FUFA's consultative meeting.

Mukono based Kyetume Football Club on Thursday beat Dove FC from Masindi to storm the finals for the FUFA Big League playoffs in a game played at the StarTimes stadium at Lugogo.

Kyetume took the lead through an own in the 34th minute for the Mukono based team to take the lead into recess but the Masindi based team twice moved from a goal down to force the game into a two-all draw in normal time.

The game later went into penalty shootouts that saw Dove FC falter for the Nakisunga based team to progress.

Veteran players Vincent Kayizzi, Owen Kasule and Steven Sande scored their penalties for Kyetume FC whereas only Robert Santos Baluku and Andrew Omego put their balls past the goal line.

Kyetume FC have now stormed the FUFA Big League playoff finals and will be waiting for the winner between UPDF and paint makers Plascon for the third slot in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Moneybags Wakiso Giants and Proline FC already qualified for the top flight league.

The team from Mukono under the guidance of former KCCA FC midfielder Jackson Mayanja and promotion master Allan Kabonge is now only a win away from playing their maiden Uganda Premier League game.
