2019 Entebbe Ladies Open: Nakalembe targets yet more glory

A strong field is expected to grace the 9th edition of the Castle Lite Entebbe Ladies Open this weekend at the par 71 Entebbe Golf club.

Irene Nakalembe will be eager to further engrave her name into the local golf books with four successive titles already in her trophy cabinet.

“I’m looking forward to winning the tournament. I’m working on some things most of which are mental. Physically I’m also working on a couple of things but it’s more about the mental preparation,” she said.

With four back-to-back titles in the bag already, one wonders how Irene Nakalembe remains motivated.

“You can never get tired of winning. Winning is such a good feeling. You can get tired of losing, but not winning.” She adds.

Nakalembe will still face many of the ladies she has toppled in the past although the biggest test yet is expected from Eva Magala, Martha Babirye and Tanzanian export Vickie Elias

Castle Lite confirmed a shs32m sponsorship package for the 9th edition of the Entebbe Ladies Open.

“As a brand we are proud to partner with Entebbe Club to bring to you this tournament. It is a demonstration of our continued support towards the game. We would like to remain that extra cold refreshment for the players at the 19th hole,” said Castle Lite brand manager Robert Nsibirwa.

The tournament to last two days is expected to attract over 400 local and foreign golfers.
