Think-Tank gives Museveni nod to host Africa Now conference

The Africa Strategic Leadership Centre has chosen Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to host their first Africa Now conference.

The think-tank has asked President Museveni to host close to four heads of state, diplomats, politicians and entrepreneurs at the Speke Resort Munyonyo on the 12th March.

Announcing the dates for the conference at Kabira Country club yesterday, the think tank chairman Dr Robert Mwesigwa told the press that the aim of the conference is to reinvigorate authentic African thinking to solve the problems facing the continent.

Among the key topics for discussion at the conference will be the repetitive but rather unresolved issue of African Integration.

“We are hoping to provide a platform where conversations like the intergration of Africa will happen” Betty Bigombe, a former minister and board member of the Centre told the press.

The think tank joins the continent’s revered Tanna High Level Forum on security as among the think tanks that offer a platform for heads of states to interact with policy research fellows and the private sector.

The Africa Strategic Leadership Centre was launched last year with the aim of providing authentic African solutions to the problems on the continent. The Africa Now conference is their flagship event.
