Kyambogo University academic registrar, Ann Bagumisa has cleared the air about the uncertainty surrounding the 15th graduation ceremony due next week on 12th December, 2018.

Reports were making rounds on social media alleging that the Banda based Kyambogo University was not ready to host the 15th graduation ceremony next week, sighting the delay in releasing graduation lists and others alleging that the research marks had not been attached yet for most of the faculties putting the graduation in balance.

When contacted by Nile Post however, the Kyambogo University Academic registrar rubbished these reports saying that the university is ready to have the celebrations next week.

In a phone interview with Nile Post, The guild minister for information and communication at Kyambogo University, Hon. Aribarema Rodgers also continued in the same lines, saying that the delays have been due to the change in terms and conditions of research supervision by the university supreme body.

"The University Council which decided that research should be taken as any other course unit so no extra facilitation was contrary to what has been happening. This was opposed by lecturers and some had to hold the research marks."

He also told Nile Post that the lecturers grievances have been attended to and the university is now ready to hold the 15 graduation.

" As I talk now, the results have been submitted in and we shall have the final graduation list by the end of today," Aribarema told Nile Post.

Over 7000 students are expected to graduate from Kyambogo University next week in what is expected to be a glamorous 15th graduation ceremony.

The Kyambogo University Graduate School, The School of Management and Entrepreneurship and the Faculty of Vocational Studies will graduate first on Wednesday 12th December, 2018.

Students from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Vocation Studies will then follow on Thursday 13th, before those from the Faculties of Education, Science and Engineering come in on Friday 14th December, 2018 to sum up the ceremony.
