Daniel Ogwang, a basketball player attached to UPDF Tomohawks was Friday morning shot dead at Gaz Petrol station in Mbuya.
It is reported that Ogwang who rides on a personal motorcycle had come to refuel, but while he waited for the pump attendants to serve him, another motorist in a vehicle came and was given priority.
A disappointed Ogwanga would then address the attendant seeking for answers as to why his urgency was under looked in favour of the other customer in a car.
It is at this point that the security officer attached to the fuel station opened fire and condemned him to death.
The Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) confirmed Ogwang’s death saying the deceased would be buried in Lira
“It’s with Great sadness that we announce the death of one of our own Mr OgwangDanielwho has been a UPDF Tomahawks Players, a Coach at Gems International and above all a Father who wasshot DeadToday Morning, May his soul Rest in eternal peace,” a statement from FUBA reads in part.
“There will be a church service and body viewing later on today at Gems International 3pm, Body will then be take to Bomb and then burial will take place in Lira.”
