VIDEO: Woman murdered with Kirumira buried amidst tears, anger

Resty Nalinya Mbabazi, 26, who was on Saturday murdered with former Buyende District Police Commander Muhammad Kirumira, was buried amidst tears and anger from relatives and friends.

At the burial in Busolo, Mpenja, Gomba District, relatives said Mbabazi is a hero because she was killed with another hero- Kirumira, alias Mwoyo Gwagwanga.

“As a family we have lost so much, we are so angry because of the situation in the country, we have been hearing about these murders and never thought we would be victims as a family,” one of the relatives said.

“We are pained to our hearts and are feeling so bad,” one of the Mbabazi’s uncles said.

Rev Fr Ambrose Kayiira, who was the main celebrant said murder has been accelerated by selfishness and envy by different political players.

Nalinya Mbabazi was a resident at Bulenga Zone A, a stone throw away from where he body met the assailants’ bullets.

According to residents in the area, Mbabazi was a humble and hardworking woman, who talked freely with everyone. By the time of her death, she had been running a mobile money shop with resident’s claiming Kirumira was a major customer.

According to Mbabazi’s sister Scovia Nakibuule, the deceased was not involved in any romantic relationship with Kirumira; “It was purely business, whoever says they were lovers is speaking nonsense.”

Mbabazi separated from her husband. She leaves behind two children, with the elder aged 6.
