Gov’t doesn’t recognise my effort, Kickboxer Tugume says as he bags belt in USA
Ugandan kickboxer Titus Tugume, has decried the lack of recognition from government despite throwing his body on the line and lifting the country’s flag high at different international competitions.
Tugume made the statements after winning a belt in the Golden State warriors west coast martial arts championships in Los Angeles, California in USA.

“Wining means a lot in my life and in my future, the reason why I work hard is because I have not yet fulfilled my target to inspire a huge number of people especially young talents and be recognized in my country as a person who can change the entire generation of today because I have been working hard since I was young and am aware that talent goes with age,” he said.
The Kick-boxer however shared that it hurts working hard to raise the Ugandan flag and not be recognised.
“Government doesn’t recognise us so much since yet we are raising our flag worldwide like any other sport.”
After winning two Gold medals and a silver medal in the 2018 Pan American games held in San Antonio last month in April the sensational Kick Boxer has made it daily routine to be at the centre of attention in every ring he has walks into.
More than 50 countries attended in this year’s championships including; USA, Canada, Colombia, German among others. Titus registered for Two style and in both he emerged as the winner.
He won the belt in the light contact style and won the Trophy in the Semi contact style.
