Ssekikubo petitions court seeking to block LDC graduation

The MP for Lwemiyaga, Theodore Ssekikubo has petitioned the High court in Kampala to block tomorrow's (Friday 27th April 2018) graduation ceremony at the Law Development Centre (LDC) claiming that the institution gave some of the students 'special' examinations.

According to the legislator, Law Development Centre should not go ahead with the ceremony until his grievances are attended to by court.

The documents he filed on Tuesday 24th, April 2018 indicate that LDC approved 312 students who had initially passed their subsequent Diploma in Legal Practice course in a meeting held in December 2017 but went ahead to confirm that 201 students were to sit for supplementary examinations in the subjects that were indicated against their names but the board approved strange results which he feels that were discriminatory to his side as since he was never passed with only one option of sitting for the supplementary exams.

"I was discriminated and I was never passed with only one option of sitting for supplementary exams. I now stand to suffer irreparable damage if court does not issue an injunction to restrain LDC from holding the graduation ceremony tomorrow."

Court is scheduled to hear the matter today.
