Kirumira trashes talk of his deployment to Old Kampala

Beleaguered top police officer, Mohammed Kirumira has trashed news making rounds on social media to the effect that he has been deployed as DPC at Old Kampala police station.

In 2016, Kirumira briefly served at the station before he was transferred to Buyende as District Commander.

"Please Ugandans disregard information making rounds on social media and on the grapevine about my alleged deployment", he wrote.

"It's not true that I was taken to Old Kampala as I am still waiting for my judgment in my cases which I have so far spent seven months battling in the tribunal" Kirumira wrote on his Facebook page over the weekend.

He went on and informed the public that he doesn't intend to serve in the force again as his next stop is to be to contest for parliament.

"But be informed further that I don't intend to serve in a capacity as a POLICE officer, I will seek retirement at owners request as provided by the law since I finished my probation and mandatory period of five years. My next destination is PARLIAMENT," he said.
