City pastor held for trying to steal deceased wife's property

A city pastor is under police custody for allegedly forging documents with intentions of stealing the property of his late wife.

Pastor Samuel Bashan Zziwa, who is attached to Full Gospel Church Makerere was allegedly arrested for forging and uttering false letters of administration to claim for ownership of his late wife Dr. Agnes Namutebi (pictured above).

It is said that Dr. Namutebi a former Makerere University lecturer died under unclear circumstances in July last year and some people were arrested in connection with her death.

"We have arrested Pastor Samuel B Zziwa who is an associate pastor at Full Gospel Church Makerere for forging and uttering false letters of administration to acquire authority over properties belonging to the late wife Dr. [Agnes] Namutebi ", said part of the police statement.

Pastor Zziwa was arrested with three other persons who assisted him in executing his plans. They allegdly  included a lawyer, Moses Musoke, an employee of SOMMA associates, fellow pastor Bolton Alex Allan Opio of the Kyanja Divine Evangelist Church and the LC1 chairperson Bombo Road Zone Jean Bakamweta.

"This comes as a result of the deceased's family finding out that Pr.Zziwa had tendered in his request to be granted sole powers of administration over the late wife's properties and family properties belonging to his father in law that had been under the supervision of the late wife by doctoring and uttering an agreement with forged signatures..." read part of the police statement.

The statement further read that, "the prime suspects lawyer [Musoke] wrote to NSSF (National Social Security Fund) attaching a copy of an agreement with fake family signatures to claim the deceased's benefits."
