Are you ready for the World Cup trophy?

As the countdown to the FIFA world cup trophy tour by Coca Cola continues, Nile Post brings you some interesting facts about this trophy.

The World Cup trophy is arguably the most highly treasured inanimate object in the world.

Since the advent of the world cup in 1930, national football teams always compete to get their hands onto this piece of art.

Germany captain Franz Beckenbauer was the first to lift it when west Germany won the world cup in 1974.

On the 5th of March, the world cup trophy will be brought to Uganda as one of its stops in the ongoing world cup tour by Coca Cola.

NBS TV and Nile Post will give you a 360 coverage of all the events from the moment this trophy leaves Cape Town.

There will be a public viewing of the trophy on the 6th of March at the Lugogo Cricket Oval and NBS and Nile Post will be giving out free tickets soon.
