Case clinic accountant kidnapped, killed, body burnt

Police is investigating circumstances under which an accountant with Case hospital in Wandegeya went missing on Tuesday on his way to the bank, only for his body to be discovered in Kajjansi.

On Wednesday, the management of Case hospital issued announcements about the disappearance of Francis Ekalungar,49 an accountant with the hospital.

“He was driving a silver Toyota premio new model UAW 899U on his way to the city centre and anybody with information regarding his whereabouts will be highly appreciated,” read the announcement in part.

According to the acting Kampala Metropolitan Area police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire , Ekalungar had been sent to bank over fifteen million shillings.

“Police took a search for him and today (Wednesday evening),his body was found burnt in Kajjansi,”Owoyesigyire said.

“He said that on recovery, police could not easily identify the body and when Ekalungar’s family members were called in, they identified it as his.

It is believed that the 49 year old accountant was first kidnapped by unknown assailants, taking the money and killed him before his body was burnt.

“Police has picked samples which have been taken to the government analytical laboratory for a DNA test to confirm the identity of the body .The body has been taken to Mulago for postmortem.”
