Terrorism: Mpuuga asks Ugandans to remain each other's keeper

The Leader of the Opposition, Mathias Mpuuga has said any form of terror attack by anyone or any organisation is a veiled attack on human civilisation and common values.

Mpuuga made the remarks hours after suicide bombers detonated two explosions one at the IPS building along Parliamentary Avenue and another at the Central Police Station in Kampala on Tuesday Morning.

Yesterday's events come a few weeks after another attack in Komamboga, a suburb of Kampala, and another on a Bushenyi bound bus in Mpigi.

"At this stage; all we can re-state is that terror attacks in any form by anyone or organisation is a veiled attack on human civilisation, and our common values and convictions; we condemn them,"he added.

In these unpredictable times, Mpuuga said that Ugandans should remain each other’s keeper , asking them to reach out to friends, loved ones and ensure cooperation with security.

He implored security to ensure coherent sharing of relevant information with the general public and in a timely manner.

He said persons chosen to communicate on behalf of security should be those who enjoy a modicum of public confidence; and without a history of distortion of information and politicking so as to enlist public cooperation.
