UMSC releases results for kadhi interviews in 18 Muslim districts

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), has officially released results for district kadhi interviews conducted recently from 18 muslim districts in both oral and written. A district Kadhi is the leader of muslims in a given district.

The results were released to the media at UMSC headquarters by the 2nd Deputy Mufti of Uganda,Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa. Below is the list of the successful Kadhis.

Eastern region

1. Sironko-Sheikh Abdul- Hakim Nassur Mugoya district Kadhi

2. Bududa-Sheikh Twaha Nabundeesi Sowedi District Kadhi

3. Kibuku-Sheikh Ssetimba Sulaiman Issa district Kadhi

2 Bunyoro Tooro region

1. Kibaale-Sheikh Isingoma Mohammed district Kadhi.

2. Kyenjojo-Sheikh Mutaawe Ibrahim Zaid district Kadhi.

3. Kakumiro-Sheikh Kyeyune Rajab district Kadhi.

4. Kamwenge-Sheikh Batalingaya Musa Elias District Kadhi.

5. Kiryandongo-Sheikh Sulaiman Abdul Bwayo district Kadhi.

3 Kampala region

Kawempe-Sheikh BadruMuhamoodMuwonge district Kadhi

4 ANKOLE- KIGEZI REGION

Kiruhura-Sheikh Muyingo Muzawil Ausi district Kadhj

5 West Buganda region

Rakai-Sheikh AmiriSsensalire District Kadhi Care-Taker

6 BUSOGA REGION 1.

Jinja 1. Sheikh Ismael Adi Basoga district Kadhi

2. Luuka-Sheikh Ismael Rashid Kyeyune district Kadhi

7 East Buganda region

1. Kayunga -Sheikh Muhammad Haruna Bukenya district Kadhi.

2. Buikwe-Sheikh Sadat Mustafa Badoola district Kadhi.

3. Wakiso-Sheikh Elias Kigozi District Kadhi.

UMSC said due to some anomalies in Entebbe, all members unanimously agreed that the election process be repeated in order to have a free and fair election.

Officials also appealed to district councils and the public to give support to those who are successful and in case of any complaint they are advised to follow a legal procedure to redress the issue concerned without causing violence or pushing for disunity which will cause disharmony in the concerned districts.

The the above leaders will serve a probation of one-year.
