Muwonge nets hat trick as Mengo City overcome Kabowa in Futsal Super League

Najiib Muwonge helped Mengo City Futsal Club recover from a 2-0 first half deficit to defeat Kabowa Futsal Club on the opening day of the Futsal Super League at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Steven Mugalu opened the scoring for Kabowa in the 5th minute and shortly after Innocent Ddamuki Kiwanuka added a second to double the lead and force a 2-0 lead into recess.

The second half started on a different note as Typhoons returned a much more organized team, leveling the score in a space of 1 minute.

Najib Muwonge was the starman of the moment netting twice in the 26th and 26th minutes off hard shots from loose balls around Kabowa's goal area.

He added his third in the 36th from a penalty after Kabowa committed a foul on Solomon Wafula in their penalty area.

The win gives Mengo City Futsal Club a much needed win on their first day of the League they intend to win.

Kisenyi Futsal Club beat Aidenal Entebbe Futsal Club 4-1 on a dramatic night that had Aidenal go first on the scoreboard.

The final game of the day was a nine-goal thriller in which Park FC overcame Intercity Busega Futsal Club to win 5-4.
