Cecafa U20: Tanzania thump Ethiopia 4-0

Ethiopia was yesterday eliminated from CECAFA U-20 after losing 4-0 to superb Kenya in the mid day match that was played at Njeru Technical Centre.

Steven Otieno goal in the 44th minute broke the back of Ethiopians who had tried to contain Kenya.

After recess beautiful goals from Otieno Austine Odhiambo, Njuguna John Collins and Oluoch Benson Ochieng frustrated Ethiopia's hopes of qualifying to the next stage of the tournament.

Having lost 4-0 to Tanzania in their first game, the Ethiopian team was also thrashed 2-1 by Zanzibar.

This means that they have ended their CECAFA 2019 campaign without a point and with only one goal in group B

In another game, Tanzania walloped 10 man Zanzibar 5-0.

Defender Mudathir Nassor Ali was sent off the pitch after a fouling Tanzania player in the 6 yard box.

Tanzania's Kelvin Pius John scored a hat trick which is the 4th hat trick of the tournament.

Despite the loss, Zanzibar also qualified to the quarterfinals which shall be played on September 29th at Njeru Technical Centre.
